AEROBICS

This expression, by itself, directly means “with oxygen”, aero means oxygen bic means activity but it comes alive when used as an adjective to identify exercise. Aerobics is a kind of physical exercise that integrates rhythmic aerobic exercise with stretching and strength training routines with the objective of improving all elements of fitness (flexibility, muscular strength, and cardio-vascular fitness). It is performed in group with background music and this is directed by an instructor. Health Zone group aerobics class has –

STEP AEROBICS

This kind of exercise is an interesting technique of aerobics. Conventional aerobics are practiced on the floor: you discover a series of dance steps, which are often done in four, two steps taking you in one direction, two more taking you the other direction. Steps are composite with arm gestures to intensify large-muscle movements and increase fat-burning sequences are performed to music. In step aerobics, workout walks vertically rather than horizontally. Step is placed five to ten inches in height before, and the routine is adapted so that students step up and down to the music.

KICK BOXING

Aero-kickboxing, which combines elements of boxing, martial arts, and aerobics to provide overall physical conditioning and toning. Unlike other types of kickboxing, cardio/aero kickboxing does not involve physical contact between competitors — it’s a cardiovascular workout that’s done because of its many benefits to the body. Music and pre-choreography create an energetic experience which raises fitness levels through the whole body. TAI CHI

TAI CHI is a graceful martial art based in large part, on an ancient Chinese martial art form, Tai Chi Quan, which requires tranquility & calmness while emphasizing on slow, mind body awareness with controlled yet fluid movements that focuses on balance, breathing & the body’s place in its immediate environment as it moves through various positions and holds a variety of poses. It is also known as ‘Meditation in Motion’. Reduces stress and improves mind-body awareness. The deep breathing improves the strength and mental concentration by encouraging oxygenated blood to flow to the muscles & brain. Helps lessen existing back pain by increasing flexibility. Strengthen the core of the body, uses spine as a pivot. Abdominal and back extensor becomes stronger.

AERO BHANGRA

As name suggests, this class is a combination of Aerobics moves with fun filled Balle- balle moves of popular bhangra. The class incorporates a variety of bhangra moves like Balle-Balle, bhangra slide, dip shoulders….to help you shake your body, have fun and get fit. So enjoy….balle balle, shaava shaava!

DANCERIZE

Dancing is itself a great workout regime to stay fit and dance incorporated with exercise becomes fun with fitness. Dancersize classes are fun filled group exercises which use dance moves from Bollywood, Latin dances, bhangra, jive etc. This form of exercise is fun to do and still burns huge amount of calories (300-400 kcal/class) while improving cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, fat loss & toning from the whole body.

BODY CONDITIONING

A unique group class format which uses music/beats for weight training to condition major muscles of body. BOOT CAMP

A fitness boot camp is a freestyle group fitness training program in Health zone, Boot camp class is designed to build strength and fitness through a variety of intense group intervals over a 1 hour period of time. Originally popular in the US they were brought over to the UK in 2005 and have been growing in popularity ever since. It is called “boot camp” because it trains groups of people, may be outdoors/indoors and may or may not be similar to military basic training.
